Funeral servcies for Maudie Viola Shields of Caddo Mills will be at 3:30 p.m. today at Coker-Mathews Chapel with Rev. Greg Ammons officiating. Burial will be in Forest Park Cemetery. She died Friday morning at Garland Community Hospital.

Born Nov. 20, 1900, in Tidwell, she was the daughter of Steve and Emma F. Payne Adams. In 1922, she married Dennis F. Shields in Clinton. She was a member of Floyd Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Flouretta Davis of Garland; two sisters, Lilian Newvillege and Jettie Mae Farr, both of Caddo Mills; five grandhildren; seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, five brothers and five sisters.

Glen Jones, Ronnie Davis, Steven Tibbetts, Steve Shields, Michael Dean, Bill Jones and Joe Strawn will serve as pallbearers.
