Mr. Harry E. Barnes, 94, of Boiling Springs, passed away Friday, June 20, 2014. A native of Sylva, NC, he was the widower of Laura Rogers Barnes and the son of the late Robert Sloan Barnes and Hattie Knight Barnes. He retired from the textile industry, was a member of Arcadia UMC and was a United States Army Air Corp veteran having served in WWII.

He is survived by two daughters, Sheila Bell and her husband Michael of Campobello and Cheryl Sprouse and her husband Ronald of Spartanburg; five grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Howard, Robert and Alvin Barnes.

Graveside services will be held on Sunday, June 22, 2014 at 4:00 pm at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Allen Senn officiating. The family will receive friends following the services.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mobile Meals of Spartanburg County, PO Box 461, Spartanburg, SC 29304.

The family will be at their respective homes.
