CALEDONIA COUNTY.
Mrs. Candace Stone, mother of State Superintendent of Education Mason S. Stone of Montpelier, died at Lyndonville Wednesday of last week after several weeks' illness and a long period of failing health, being over 89 years of age.
She was born in Craftsbury on December 25, 1823, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Moses Mason. Her husband, Orson Stone, died in 1906. She leaves one daughter, Mrs. Van Ness Burke of this place, and four sons, Elmer of Colorado, G. Leland of Malone, N. Y., Mark of Lyndonville and Mason S. Stone of Montpelier; also one sister, Mrs. Boardman Shaw of Morrisville.
