KERNERSVILLE, NC ~ On June 24, 2010, my beloved father, Junior E. Raye, went home to his Lord after a courageous battle with cancer.
JR was born in Virginia on Sept. 12, 1937, resided in Kernersville and retired from Davey Tree.
JR was preceded in death by his loving wife, Kitty Raye; and step-daughter, Donna Bates.
He leaves behind his daughter, Macie Mann; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and his most special friend, his dog "Lucky".
The family would like to thank the nurses on 9 west at Forsyth Memorial and the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Center for their loving care of JR.
Visitation and services will be held Sunday, June 27, at 2 p.m. at Valley View Baptist Church, 6240 Old Valley Road Kernersville 27284.
