Agnes (Peg) Hawkins Brown Berry, born August 20, 1917, has gone to be with her Lord. On Sunday May 18th, with loved ones present and at the age of 96 years young, Peg passed peacefully to the next life while at St. David's South Austin Hospital Austin Texas. So many will miss the wonderful smile and touching heart she gave so freely, her devotion and faith has lead her home.

Peg is survived by her daughters Nancy Brown Wallace and Paula Brown Abamonte of Austin, TX and Elise Brown Laney Burnett of Brevard, N.C. Peg also had a son, Esper Daniel (Dan) Brown Jr. of Atlanta, GA deceased. Her surviving grandchildren are Donna Wallace, Lee Ann Wallace Baze and Steve Wallace of Austin, TX. Lisa Wallace James of Fort Morgan CO, Elizabeth Laney Martin of Indianapolis IN, Allison Laney Morris of Suwanee GA, Shelley Laney Gildemeyer of Flowery Branch GA. and step daughter Patricia Berry Glass of Austin, TX. Peg also has 17 Great-Grandchildren and 7 Great-Great-Grandchildren. Peg's "Adopted" children: Kate Hale of Atlanta, GA, Lilly Blue of Seneca S.C., and Loretta and Bryan Ruybalid of Austin, TX.

Peg was born and raised in Rutherford County N.C., and lived in Cliffside, Forest City, Belmont, N.C., before retiring to Seneca, S.C. Peg was blessed to have found love twice in her lifetime; married 56 wonderful years to Esper D. Brown of Forest City N.C. with whom she raised her 3 daughters and son. After his death, she moved to Austin, TX in 2003; fell in love with one Col. James D. Berry, retired military, and was married 7 years until his passing. Peg had great love for her many friends and extended family. Our family thanks them for their many visits and constant communication. She thrived on the love you showed her.

Very special thanks to her caregivers of the past several years (alphabetical order): Carmen, Debbie, Linda, Patti, Stephanie, Virginia and Yolanda Peg was a member of the Officer's Wives Club & Knife and Fork Club Austin, TX Memorial Services to be held: Saturday June 7th 1:00 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church 2613 Jones Road Austin Texas 78745 (512 892-6038) to be followed by a reception in the fellowship hall.

Graveside Service to be held: Saturday June 14th 1:00 p.m. at Oconee Memorial Gardens 1923 Blue Ridge Blvd, Seneca, S.C. 29672 (864-882-2369) to be followed by a reception at St. Marks United Methodist Church 616 Quincy Rd. Seneca, S.C. 29678 (864-882-2603).
