John D. Taylor, 83, died last Thursday at the Methodist home in Topeka. He was born in Onaga and was a resident of Topeka since 1925. He was employed by the Topeka public school system until 1945.
He was married in October 1904, to Emma Langhard, who died in 1912. He was united in marriage in 1920 to Sallie Guest, who died in 1954.
He is survived by a daughter, Jane B. Taylor, of Minneapolis, Minn.; two sons, Edward of Kiowa, Colo., and James of Kansas City, Mo., two step-daughters, Mrs. Grace Griffin of Topeka; and Mrs. Chalmers Clark of Ottawa; a sister, Mrs. Margaret Roderick of Independence, Mo., a brother, Samuel Taylor of Beloit, Wis.; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral serviced were held Monday morning at 11 o'clock in Topeka with graveside services at the Onaga cemetery.
Mrs. Ed Gurtler is a niece of Mr. Taylor.
