Ed was born in Holyoke, Mass. He joined the Navy in 1942 during WWII serving on the USS Long Island in the South Pacific. He was definitely one of the "Greatest Generation". He always felt his service to his country was an honor. He was briefly stationed in Arlington, Wash. He was asked by a navy buddy to come to his family home for dinner in Lake Stevens, Wash. At that dinner, he met the love of his life, Lorraine. They married in 1945 and a lifetime of love, sharing, and hard work began. They were together for 63 years until the passing of his wonderful wife. When Ed hung up his Navy uniform he put on a US Postal delivery uniform and wore that just as proudly for 33 years.

Ed was a man of many talents. He wore many hats including post commander of the American Legion post #6, 22 years in the Blue Knights drum and bugle corp, played taps at military memorials, landlord, handyman, Seahawk fan, a lifetime member of VFW, and business owner of Flowers by Adrian. With all these irons in the fire, he always had time to help a family member or friend anytime they needed a hand.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary, his brothers, Fred and John, and his Sweet Lorraine.
He is survived by his son, Bob (Paula), son, Ed (Patti), grandchildren, John, Cody, and Autumn, and great grandchildren, Olivia, Stella, and Ryko. He leaves numerous nieces, nephews; and oh so many friends. He will be missed by his cat, Snickers.

A special thanks to the many nurses and staff at Providence Hospital, Ashley Pointe, Marysville Care center, and Lakeside AFH for all their care and comfort. We will truly miss you Dad.

Services will be held at Solie Funeral Home in Everett on June 18, 2014 at 11 am.
