Victor Myers Accident Victim
Victor Harry (Vic) Myers, 57, of Lodi was killed in a head-on collision in the driving rain on Highway 99,just north of the Woodridge rd at 6:12 p.m. last night.
The well-known Lodian was thrown into a ditch and died of internal injuries enroute to Buchanan Hospital.
Victor Myers was a native of Lodi, born here Oct, 20, 1896. When the First World War broke out he was one of the first from this district to enlist, serving throughout the conflict with the famed Rainbow Division.
As a veteran after the war Mr. Myers was active in the Lodi Post 22, American Legion. He was elected post commander in 1930. He was also a member of the Woodbridge Gold and Country Club.
For 32 years Vic Myers worked with Henderson Brothers Co., Inc. He left the firm in 1946 to open his own shop, the Vic Myers Sheet Metal Shop at 212 S. Washington st. The Myers left their Lodi home just over a year ago, moving to Rt. 2, Box 103, Acampo.
Mr. Myers is survived by his wife, Eva Myers, and one daughter, Mrs. Ada Lois Barbero of Los Altos.
