Mrs. S.H. Nichols, well known Hunt-co woman, died Tuesday afternoon at 3:15 o'clock at her home in the Floyd community, west of Greenville.

Final rites will be observed at 4 o'clock Thursday afternoon. Services will be held at the Methodist church in Floyd, with Rev. Hightower, of Talco, and the Floyd Methodist minister, officiating. Interment will be in Forest Park cemetery here.

Born in Lenoir City, Tenn., Mrs. Nichols, was Miss Sallie Eldridge before her marriage. On September 11, 1872 she was married to S.H. Nichols and they established their home on a farm adjoining that of her father where they resided for fifty-four years. On May 1, 1926 they moved to the Floyd community where she had since made her home.

Mrs. Nichols embraced the teachings of Christianity when she was 18 years old and united with the Methodist church. She had since been a loyal and faithful Christian and had been active in work for the furtherance of Christianity.

Lived Near Floyd.

During the years that Mrs. Nichols was a resident of the Floyd community she endeared herself to hundreds of friends who were today bowing their heads in grief because of her passing. She was a true friend to the many who knew her and was a fine citizen who will be greatly missed.

Mrs. Nichols is survived by her husband and five children, John F. Nichols and Joe D. Nichols of Sanderson, Texas; George Nichols of Monahans, Mrs. A.W. Conner of Daingerfield and Mrs. J.J. George of Floyd; one brother, Roger Eldridge; one sister, Mrs. Joe Kollock of Lenoir City, Tenn., and several grandchildren. A brother, A.J. Eldridge, of Floyd, preceded her in death last February 10.

Final rites were observed this afternoon at 4 o'clock for Mrs. S.H. Nichols, prominent resident of the Floyd community, who died Tuesday. Services were held at the Methodist church in Floyd, with Rev. Hightower and Rev. Hubbard officiating.

Pallbearers were relative of Mrs. Nichols: Roy Eldridge, Charlie Eldridge, A.W. Connor, Julius George, W.A. Butler and Louis Rochat.
