The daughter of John Churchman Rose and Ada Carlyle Armstrong, Cecile married William Edward Zigrang on 17 May 1919 in St. Louis, Missouri.

They were the parents of 2 children and lived in Kampsville, Illinois.

Cecile suffered severe burns when she accidentally fell into a trash fire at the family home. She was taken to Firmin Desloge Hospital in St. Louis on 31 Jul 1962 for treatment, but died there 2 days later at the age of 65 years, 9 months and 11 days.

She was survived by her husband, William; and 2 sons, William John Zigrang and Adrian K. Zigrang, both majors in the air force at the time; 6 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Milan Rose of Kampsville, Illinois, and Harry Rose of Quincy, Illinois; and 2 sisters, Minnie Baumgartner of Brentwood, Missouri, and Gladys McCoy of Collinsville, Illinois.

Cecile's son, William, was stationed at Scott Air Force Base in Belleville. Her other son, Adrian, was stationed in Madrid, Spain.

Visitation was held at the C. C. Hanks Funeral Home in Kampsville on 03 Aug 1962. Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 p.m. the following afternoon at the First Presbyterian Church in Kampsville.
