After an illness of ten days with pneumonia, Mrs. Lucy Ellen Chambers, 88, died at her home in Ellettsville at 5 o'clock this morning. She was the widow of the late Anthony Chambers, who died about 21 years ago. Mrs. Chambers had been a resident of Ellettsville many years and was a member of the Methodist church there.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Blanche Gooldy of Ellettsville; one brother, George Bright of Louisville; three grandchildren, Perry Dillman, Maud Bokina and James Gooldy, and eight great grandchildren.
The funeral services will be conducted from the Clear Creek church at 2 p. m. Monday by the Rev. Harry T. Bridwell, and the body will be interred in the Clear Creek cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chauncey Wooden, Marshall Wooden, John Sylvester, Wylie Sare, John Dalton and Meredith Dillman. The list of flower bearers includes Anna Halstead, Nannie Bastin, Hattie Cowden and Dorothy Schott.
The body lies in state at the residence.
