The Lord is close to those whose hearts are breaking. Psalm 34:18 Sarah was born September 30, 1927 to the late Henry and Sallie Wrenn. She was a graduate of Southampton County Public Schools. She was formerly employed at Whitely Peanut Company in Sedley Virginia. Sarah enjoyed coming to church until her health began to fail her. She grew up attending Southampton AME Zion Church in Courtland, VA. After her marriage to the late John Hamlin Sr., she attended Union Hill United Church of Christ. She later joined Triumph In Victory Christian Church. She was predeceased in death by her brothers; Henry, John Walter, Clayton, Nathaniel, and sisters; Agie Mae, Willie Beck and Carrie Wrenn. Sarah a quiet, loving lady leaves to cherish fond memories to her children, Juanita Johnson of Sedley, Va., John Hamlin Jr. (Linda) of Waverly, Va., Phyllis Urquart of Sedley, Va., Sally Adams (Steve) of Courtland, Va., Diana Johnson (Raymond) of Capron, Va., Dorothy Hamlin (Bill) of Maryland. One sister-in-law, Minnie Stewart (John) of Hampton, Va., One brother-in-law, Frank Williams of Smithfield, Va. A host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
