Passed away surrounded by his family on Monday, June 9, 2014 after a long illness.
Eddie was born in Wilmington, Delaware on March 6, 1950 to Edward S. Sr., and Elizabeth O. Barczewski. He attended Wilmington High School, served his country in the U.S. Army, and graduated with a nursing degree from Delaware Technical and Community College.
Eddie, his father, and uncle played in a band called Turner Trio. He was an avid Eagles football fan. He loved horse racing. As a young person, Eddie was a member of St. Elizabeth Boy Scout Troop #285 and helped out on many of their camping trips.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward S. Barczewski, Sr.
Eddie is survived by his mother, Elizabeth, with whom he lived; sisters, Flossie Barczewski, Betsy Totaro (Frank), Marianne Hudson, all of Wilmington, and Alice Stark (Joe) of Bethlehem, GA. Additionally, Eddie is survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He will also be missed by his constant companion, Misty.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, June 16, 2014 at 11:00 am at St. Elizabeth R. C. Church, 809 South Broom Street, Wilmington, DE. A viewing will take place at the church on Monday from 9:30-11:00 am. Interment will be in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE.
