Sally C. O'Hare, widow of James J. O'Hare, passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at the Watermark at 3030 Park in Bridgeport, CT where she resided for the past 3 years. She was the daughter of the late Grace Walker and Alexander W. Creedon. She leaves her three children and their spouses: James J. O'Hare III and Sally (Hingham, MA), Nicholas C. O'Hare and Cynthia (Westlake Village, CA) and Ellen O'Hare Rogers and Robert (Fairfield, CT), and she was blessed with 8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Affectionately known to family as Yaya, her family was her life. She was devoted to all of us and was fortunate enough to have been able to enjoy all of her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She enjoyed nothing more than seeing everyone together; especially watching and participating in her grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's activities. We will all miss her. Sally was born and married in Hartford, CT. She attended Hartford public schools, Mt. St. Joseph Academy, and graduated from Wellesley College in 1941. She and her husband Jim lived in Cape Elizabeth, ME, Barrington, RI, West Hartford, CT and West Lebanon, NH before returning to Avon, CT. Sally was active in many charitable activities during the course of her life and was an enthusiastic skier well into her seventies. At 92 she moved into a 9th floor aerie at the Watermark in Bridgeport, CT. She enjoyed being high enough to see Long Island Sound. She could watch the sun rise and set, and track the moon as it traveled past her windows. She had three wonderful years there making new friends as well as cheering on the Huskies' basketball teams and her favorite Red Sox.
