Jesse E. Thompson, 87, of Eagle Grove, died Thursday, August 5, 2004, at
Trinity Regional Hospital in Fort Dodge.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, August 9, 2004, at Foust Funeral Home with the Rev John Nett officiating. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
Jesse E. Thompson was born March 19, 1917 in Commerce, Oklahoma, the son of Frank and Carrie (Pond) Thompson. He was raised and educated in the area of his birth. On November 11, 1950, he married Dorothy M. (Tate) Orr at Goff, Kansas. Jesse worked in maintenance for the University of Iowa. Following retirement, Dorothy and Jesse moved to Missouri and then to Eagle Grove in 1991. He was a member of the Grace Evangelical Free Church in Eagle Grove.
He is survived by his son George E Thompson, of Lee's Summit, Mo.; daughters, Pauline Thornburgh, of Topeka, KS ; and Carol S Johnson, of Auburn, KS; a sister, Jewel Reich, of Biloxi, MS , and grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Dorothy, on August 30, 1998, brothers Jack and George Thompson, and stepdaughters Dora Asche and Ruth Green.
Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove was in charge of the arrangements.
