Shirley Ann Straub, 56, of Lodi died Saturday in a local convalescent hospital following a lengthy illness.

Born Nov. 28, 1933 in Burchard, Neb., she moved to Lodi in 1985. She was a secretary for the Church of God Seventh Day for 12 years, at various levels of the church's organizations. She was a member of the Church of God Seventh Day and was known for her beautiful soprano solos.

Straub is survived by two sons, Richard Straub of Elk Grove and Eric Straub of Lodi; one daughter, Marla Straub of Portland, Ore.; mother Mable Baker of Chatsworth; two brothers, Gene Baker of Studio City and Bruce Baker of Baltimore, Md.; and five grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her father, Henry Baker, in 1988.

Church services will be held at 7 p.m. today in the Nazarene Church on West Kettleman Lane, with Elder Loren Stacey, Elder Richard Straub, Elder Eric Straub and Elder Melvin Reuscher of the Church of God Seventh Day officiating.

Committal will be in Cherokee Memorial Park at 10 a.m. Wednesday.

Visitation will be after 8 a.m. today in the Lodi Funeral Home.
