"Ernest Scott, 91 Died August 29"

"Ernest C. Scott, 91, of Grand Island, former Fullerton resident, died August 29 in the Veterans Hospital there following a lengthy illness. He was a brother of Leonard Scott of Fullerton.

He was born on August 24, 1896, in Nance County to James and Flora (Beagle) Scott. He grew up in the Fullerton area and attended District No. 18 school.

During World War I he served in the U. S. Army Air Service as a ballonist.

He married Charlotte Adamson on September 6, 1921, in Lincoln. The couple farmed in the Fullerton and Belgrade area before retirement and moving into Fullerton. Mrs. Scott died February 29, 1972. He married Susie Christensen on January 31, 1976, at Grand Island, where the couple had since resided.

He was a member of the Fulleton United Methodist Church, American Legion Post No. 151, Eagles Aerie No. 378 and the Grand Generation Center at Grand Island.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Allen Scott of Grand Island; two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Betty) Sullivan of Palmer and Mrs. Herman (Connie) Hess of Yucaipa, California; a sister, Mrs. Sadie Marxsen of Santa Ana, California; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two infant children; a brother and a sister.

Funeral services were conducted September 2 in Palmer's Funeral Chapel here by Rev. Bonnie Gilmer, pastor of the Fullerton United Methodist Church.

Burial was in the Fullerton Cemetery."
