"ELIAS W. PIGOTT, son of Thomas and Charlotte Pigott, was born in Marion Co., Miss., Aug. 9, 1843, joined State Line Baptist church, Aug. 1863. Afterwards moved his membership to New Zion church, where he remained a member until his death, which occurred June 22, 1889. His suffering was severe for thirteen months, which he bore with Christian fortitude. He leaves a wife and six children and a large circle of relatives and friends to mourn his loss."
