Geneva was born in Lancaster, Texas, to the late David and Mary Pritchett. She attended school in Red Oak and Midlothian. Geneva married the late Douglas Esselman on September 14, 1940 and celebrated 65 years of marriage. Geneva was self-employed as she successfully owned and operated a pet grooming and boarding business as well as catering wedding events with Audrey's Bake Shop. Geneva was a beloved member of First Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher and missions outreach leader. She touched many lives throughout her Christian service.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Esselman; a son, Curtis; a granddaughter, Amanda May; and a daughter-in-law, Martha Esselman.
Survivors include her sons, Larry Esselman and wife, Fe, of Waxahachie, and Bill Esselman and wife, Jamie, of Waxahachie; daughters, Sherry May and husband, Jim, of Sulphur Springs, and Janie Goodwin and husband, Ricky, of Temple; grandchildren: David Esselman, Douglas Esselman, Larry Don Esselman, Cassie Booher, Jarrett Esselman, Brandt Goodwin, and Kelsey Goodwin: 15 great grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; special friends, Nita Adams and Jean Cook; along with many other friends.
