Dr. Barkelew
Private funeral for Dr. Frederick E. Barkelew of 147 Hillside Drive, Fairfax, was held yesterday in San Rafael.
Barkelew died unexpectedly at home Wednesday.
A native of Iowa, he came to California as a child. He was graduated from the University of California's dental school, then practiced dentistry in San Francisco from 1909 to 1948, except 10 years during the 1930s when he practiced in Napa. He moved to Fairfax in 1945.
Surviving is his wife, Ann Barkelew of Fairfax.
Inurnment was at Mount Tamalpais Cemetery, San Rafael.
