Charles Frederick May, 85, of Route 1, Hurdland, died Sunday morning October 1, 1978 at 8:15 in a Kirksville hospital where he had been a patient since September 14.
The son of Jacob H. and Eliza Jane White May, he was born November 12, 1892 west of Milan. On June 23, 1917 he married Mollie Livingston who preceded him in death on January 23, 1970. Also preceding him in death were eight brothers and sisters.
Surviving are one son, Charles C. May of Hurdland; one daughter, Mrs. George (Maxine) Roberts of Milan; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one sister, Lena Ryan of Kansas City.
Mr. May resided in the Milan community until 10 years ago when he moved to a farm near Hurdland.
He was a member of the Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon October 3, 1978 at 2o'clock in the Riggen Funeral Home in Milan. The Rev. Darrell Draper of Brashear will conduct the services. Burial will be in the Wilhite cemetery six miles west of Milan.
