Elfert, Joseph (17 May 1857 - 29 Feb. 1948)
Funeral services were held Thursday at Christ Lutheran church at Abbotsford for Joseph C. Elfert, age 90, who died Sunday, Feb. 29, at Abbotsford, Wisconsin. Rev. F. H. Sprengler officiated at the services and burial was made at Knowlton.
Mr. Elfert was born in Germany May 17, 1857, and was married to Christine Miller, who died Feb. 22, 1924. His second marriage took place at Mankato, Minn., to Jolann John. He had been a resident of Abbotsford the past 10 years.
Surviving are his widow and the following children by his first wife - Mrs. Frank (Magdelin) Wiese, Mrs. Jake (Augusta) Kramer, Mrs. Frank (Lizabeth) Weber, John F. Elfert, Mrs. Romaine (Clara) Morehouse, Mrs. Leo (Mary) Miller and Mrs. Rose Vollet. Besides his first wife, twins, two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death. There are 36 grand children and 69 great grand children.
