IRENE BOBILYA HIATT, 99, died on Friday, May 30, 2014, in Fort Wayne. Born July 31, 1914, in Chick asha, Okla., she was the youngest of 14 children (all deceased) and a daughter of John and Ella Ogborn. She worked for many years as a secretary in the Fort Wayne schools. She moved to Clearwater, Fla. for many years and returned to Fort Wayne in 1996 and made her home at Georgetowne Place. A true lover of the outdoors, she and her husband, Chuck drove to Alaska five times. She is survived locally by her niece, Virginia Lee Christoff; nephew, Keith Mendenhall; and stepchildren, Conda Lee Schenkel and George T. Hiatt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Chuck" Bobilya, in 1971; and husband, George Hiatt, in 1981. A celebration of her life and a memorial service is 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at Plymouth Congregational Church, with calling one hour prior. Burial to follow service in Lindenwood Cemetery.
