F.H. Heard died intestate and his son, Grant Davis Heard was the administrator of the estate and also became guardian of younger brother, Wilson M. Heard.

Maj. F.H. Heard, aged about 59 years, died at his residence, ten miles south of Covington, on Wednesday last, of Paralysis. He was an influential citizen and highly respected by all who knew him.
