Henrietta "Hettie or Hetty" Barclay was the wife of noted Pittsburgh attorney, Walter Forward 1786-1852. She was married to Walter Forward in Greensburg, Westmoreland Co. on Jan. 31, 1808.
Henrietta was a sister of Joseph Barclay, early Pittsburgh cabinet-maker and of Elizabeth "Harriet" Barclay (Perkins) wife of Thomas Perkins, early Pittsburgh clockmaker and jeweler.
Henrietta "Hettie" was also the namesake of HESTER "Hetty" Barclay b. 1756 Lancaster Co., PA (the youngest child of William Barclay, Jr. d. 1757 buried Middle Octorara Presbyterian Church cemetery near Quarryville, PA). Hester Barclay being the first female convert to the Swedenborgian faith in America in Philadelpha in 1784.
Henrietta and her siblings are descended from William Barclay, Jr. 1709-1757 of Lancaster Co., PA, buried at the Middle Octorara Presbyterian Cemetery near Quarryville, PA.
Henrietta's funeral service is noted in the ledger of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral Pittsburgh.
