Funeral services for Kenneth Alex Alvis Sr., 60, of Addison will be held on Sunday, June 8, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel; with interment in Garden City Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Alvis passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at UAB Hospital.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Toppy Alex Alvis and Nancy Louella Humphries Alvis and a sister, Regina Harris.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene Pigg Alvis; children, Kenneth (Debbie) Alvis; Shannon Alvis, Cathynia (Jaime) Guzman, Jeremey (Bretinie) Alvis, Anthony Wilkins, Martha (David) Brooks and LaToyia (Matthew) Amaro; twelve grandchildren; brother, Gerald (Ann) Alvis and sisters, Doris (Joe) Franks, Theresa (Norman) Bales and Nancy (Larry) Veahman.
