AUGUSTA - Herbert E. Bryant, 73, of Brookside Avenue, died Thursday, June 5, 2014, at the Alfond Center for Health. He was born in Hartford on Nov. 27, 1940, the son of Ezra and Clara (Gordon) Bryant. Herb grew up in the Hartford and Livermore area.

He had worked at Reliable Oil Co., and later for Augusta Fuel for more than 20 years, until his retirement in 2006. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and snowmobiling.

He was predeceased by his parents; a daughter, Lee Ann Bryant; and a sister, Hazel Wing.

He is survived by his wife, Coleen Bryant, of Augusta; a son, Scott Bryant, and his wife, Evelyn, of Virginia; two daughters, Teresa Black and her husband, Ralph, of Fayette, and Robin Wheeler and her husband, Sean, of Monmouth; three brothers, Bert Bryant and his wife, Ruby, of Norway, Raymond Bryant and his wife, Marilyn, of Stratton, and Robert Bryant and his wife, Sally, of Canton; three sisters, Jeannette Donahue and her husband, Lester, of Livermore, Lida Keene, of Hartford, and Thelma Kenney, of Livermore; also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and his close companion, Bliss, his golden retriever.
