COUNCIL BLUFFS NEWS--

John W. Bird, 68 years old, died at his home in Garner township yesterday morning of tuberculosis, after an acute illness of only two weeks. He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Addie Hartwell of Council Bluffs, and three sons, F. A., Joel L., of this city and Dean, living at home. He also leaves eight brothers and three sisters. They are Noah Bird of Eden, Ill.; Joel, Westley and George, all of Council Bluffs; Richard of Missouri Valley, Jacob and Martin of Peoria, Ill; N. M. Bird of Kansas City, Mrs. Sarah Hollingsworth of Streetwater, Neb.; Mrs. Sarah J. Mahaffy of Abingdon, Ill., and Mrs. Addie Gordon of Olt, Colo.

The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon from the residence, Rev. J. E. Cummings of the Second Presbyterian church of this city officiating. The pallbearers will be members of the Masonic lodge at Quick. He will be buried in Walnut Hill cemetery in this city.
