Anthony P. Alevras Funeral services for Mr. Anthony P. "Tony" Alevras will be held at 10:30 a.m. today, at St. Nectarios Greek Orthodox Church, Palatine. Born Dec. 28, 1954, in Tyros, Greece, he died Saturday, July 5, 2003. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Barrington. Tony was the proud owner of Alemar's restaurant in Palatine for 17 years. He was a "workaholic" who enjoyed the restaurant business. He loved to be in control, knew his job well and loved to take care of everyone, often times neglecting to take care of himself. Even as a young boy, he was known to be a hard worker, strong in physical strength, dependable and not afraid to try new things. His first job in the United State was a dishwasher in a local restaurant, and after mastering kitchen work, quickly became the head cook, then later a manager. On his time off, Tony enjoyed riding his Harley and cruising on his boat in Greece. He accomplished many things. Every year he and his family would go to Greece and enjoy themselves. He loved nature, his garden at home, friends, customers at his restaurant and his family very much. He lived his life to the fullest and was a hard worker with a huge heart. He worked hard for everything he had and he loved his wife, Marilyn, and his children, Maria and Peter very much. Visitation was Thursday, at Ahlgrim & Sons Funeral Home, Palatine, George Vergos, funeral director.
