Marie Aldridge, 95, of Charleston, AR, died Tuesday, June 3, 2014, in Charleston.
She was born March 7, 1919, in Greenwood, AR to William Albert VanMeter and Ollie Fitzgerald VanMeter.

She was a member of Marietta Cumberland Presbyterian Church, a member of the American Legion and a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Aften Aldridge, her parents and two brothers, John & Elzie VanMeter.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 am Saturday, June 7, 2014, at Smith Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Vondal Davenport and Rev. Bill Van Meter officiating. Interment at Garden of Memories in Charleston under the direction of Smith Mortuary of Charleston.

She is survived by one son Tim Aldridge of Charleston and two grandchildren Genelle Ruth and husband John of Charleston and Chris Aldridge of Booneville; three great grandchildren Brandon & Chase Ruth of Charleston and Addison Aldridge of Alma.

Pall Bearers will be Gary Rainey, Will Schmitz, Craig Edgmon, Jerry Cravens, Carl Haney and Bill Bagwell. Honorary pall bearers will be Marietta Cumberland Presbyterian Church Members.
