Earl E. Ober Sr. WHITE HALL, MD Earl E. Ober Sr., 87, died at 3 p.m. Friday, May 16, 2003, at York Hospital. He was the husband of the late Miriam (Reechel) Ober and the late Catherine (Almony) Ober. Viewing is from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary Inc., 24 Second St., New Freedom. The service is at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary with Roger Griest officiating. Burial is in Stablers Cemetery, Parkton, Md. Born in Baltimore County, Md., April 2, 1916, a son of the late Milton and Grace M. (Baker) Ober. He was a life long resident of White Hall. He was employed as a truck driver at the former Andrew Building Co. in Riderwood Md., for 25 years; and later a groundsman for the Baltimore County Board of Education for 13 years, retiring in 1983. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during WWII from 1924-1944 and receiving the Bronze Star. He was a member of Stablers United Methodist Church, Parkton, Md., and the Stewartstown Senior Center, Stewartstown. He was an avid gardener. He leaves two sons, Earl E. Ober Jr. and his wife, Trudy of Mifflintown, and Kenneth L. Ober of Parkton; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and three brothers, Duncan Ober and Roland Ober, both of White Hall, Md., and James Ober of Lutherville, Md.
