DeWitt, Floyd Orville Sr, formerly of Okolona, Kentucky departed from this life March 6th in Middletown Pennsylvania at age 96. He was born in Laud, Indiana, raised in Northern Indiana, and graduated from Huntington College. He served in WWII, rising to the rank of army captain and received a bronze star for meritorious service. Floyd continued in the active reserve until his retirement as Major in 1970. He married Lucy Oma Grottenthaler in 1943. He worked in the US Postal Service for 33 years.

Preceding him in death is his loving wife, Lucy Oma Grottenthaler.

He is survived by three sons, Floyd Jr, John Stephen, and Lawrence Alan; brother Paul; sister Alice Elaine McCray; ten grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be on Thursday at 11am at Bethany United Church of Christ, 10400 Old Preston Hwy. Visitation at the church from 10 am until service time. A private burial service will follow immediately at Evergreen Cemetery. Online condolences at www.evergreen-louisville.com
