RourkeJuly 15, 1919 - September 2, 2013 MIDWEST CITY Durward L. "Dewey" Rourke passed from this world on September 2, 2013 into the loving arms of God. He was born July 15, 1919 in Edina, Missouri to Lawrence K. and Iva G. (Hayden) Rourke. Dewey served his country during WWII in the the Field Artillery Divison at Fort Sill and later as a radio operator on B29 planes. He retired after 30 years with Graham Paper Company. He was a faithful member of the First Christian Church of Midwest for 60 years. Dewey was blessed with two wonderful marriages. He was married to Lois (Eschmann) Rourke for 46 years before her death. They leave behind one son Larry Rourke and wife Donna; grandchildren Shannon, Chad, and Tera; and great-grandson Jalen. Dewey was then married to Melva (Blankinship) Rourke for 20 years before her death. Together they were active volunteers at Midwest Regional Hospital, The Science Museum Oklahoma, and The National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. He leaves behind step-sons Gregory Blankinship and wife Margaret, Randy Blankinship and wife Gloria, and step-daughter Suzy Jones and husband Bob; 6 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Dewey is also survived by his brother Delbert Rourke and wife Neva, and a niece and nephew.The family will receive friends Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home in Del City, OK. Services will be 10:00 AM Friday, September 6, 2013, at Epworth Villa in the Brill Chapel with interment at Resthaven Memory Gardens at 11:30 AM.
