This memorial of Elizabeth (Hendricks) Bayles, and her husband listed on same memorial, Harrison L. Bayles, were married in Hancock Co., Il., 02 Jan. 1868. Harrison L. Bayles was the son of David and Jane (Victor) Bayles of McDonough Co., Il. Harrison served in the Civil War in Co. B, 118th. Il. Infantry Volunteers. Records show that he drowned in Coon Creek, Jasper Co., Mo. Harrison L. Bayles was the brother of my ancestor Minerva Ellen Bayles. The History of McDonough Co., Il., Continental Historical Publishing Co., Springfield, has a record of the David and Jane (Victor)Bayles family with a listing of Harrison L. and his brothers who served and died in the Civil War.
