MAULDIN -- Janie Baldwin Mullinax, 98, formerly of Port Royal, died Sunday, July 2, 2006, in the National Health Care Center in Mauldin. Ms. Mullinax was born Dec. 28, 1907, in Mauldin, the daughter of the late Hugh and Mamie Baldwin.
She lived in Port Royal from 1965 until 1975 and was a member of Port Royal Baptist Church. She was a charter member of New Hope Baptist Church in Mauldin and was a homemaker.
Survivors include three daughters, Norma Finlay of Mauldin, Adrith Thayer of Simpsonville and Sarah "Sally" Rowe of Beaufort; a brother; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther P. Mullinax; five brothers; three sisters; and a son-in-law.
