Roscoe Cox, age 95 of New Castle, KY, passed away Monday, June 2, 2014 at Jewish Hospital Shelbyville. He was formerly of Louisville. He retired from International Harvester in Louisville. He was a member of Calvary Apostolic Church, Louisville. Roscoe was the son of the late Oscar and Ida (Kelly) Cox and was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ellen (Payton) Cox; son, Barry W. Cox and sister, Aline Bennett.
Survived by: 2 Daughters: Loretta Birchler of Shelbyville & Sharon Allen (Bruce T.) of Woodbury, MN; Son: R. DeVon Cox (Connie) of Durand, MI; Brother: Herman Cox (Louise) of Bagdad, KY; 13 Grandchildren; Several Great Grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 6, 2014 at Prewitt New Castle Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Michael Duncan, pastor of Eminence Baptist Church. Interment will be in the New Castle Cemetery.
