Mrs. Carolyn Macon Hendrix, age 93, died Friday at East Georgia Regional Medical Center. The Abbeville, GA native had lived in Bulloch County for most of her life. She was retired from Bulloch County Health Department as a secretary and bookkeeper after 38 years of service. She was a member of the Pittman Park United Methodist Church.
Surviving is her husband of 56 years Donald O. Hendrix of Statesboro; three sisters-in-law Lucille Hendrix of Statesboro, Melba Hendrix of Portal and Betty Hendrix of Portal; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Hendrix will be held Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Huling and Rev. Bill Brown officiating. Burial will be in Eastside Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be nephews.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Pittman Park United Methodist Church 1102 Fair Rd. Statesboro, Ga. 30458, or to the Arthritis Foundation P.O. Box 4284 Pittsfield, MA 01202-4284.
