Hallie Mae (Adair) Greer
---Hallie Mae (Adair) Greer, 78, of Marshall, died at Oaklawn Hospital on Saturday, December 5, 2003.
---Mrs. Greer was born March 27, 1925 in Farmington, Kentucky to Hallie Edwin and Mamie (Grayson) Adair. She spent her youth in Kentucky. She was married o[sic] September 8, 1945 in Mayfield, Kentucky to Carl Bowden Greer. The couple moved to the Marshall area in 1951, and had lived here since then. Mr. Greer preceded her death on February 20, 1972.
---Mrs. Greer worked as a cook, bus driver and custodian at Mar-Lee School from 1964, until her retirement in 1994. In a commendation from the Mar-Lee School Board, they noted that she had driven 559,400 miles of bus routes for the school over the years. Prior to working at Mar-Lee, she had worked at Kellogg Company in Battle Creek.
---She had attended the Rice Creek Community Church. She loved to cook, read, crochet, and hook rugs. She loved her role in life a "grandmother."
---Surviving are her daughters, Carol Jo (Mark) Tinney of Farmington, Michigan, and Jan Marie Adams of Marshall; her sons, Carlton Thomas "Tom" (Jane) Greer of Albion, and Steven Alan Greer of Marshall; three grandchildren, Jeremy Bussing, Jessica Adams, and Matthew Greer; a brother, John Earl Adair of Oregon; and nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Shelby Jean Adair, and Billie Marie Sanderson, and a brother, Harry Donald Adair.
---Visitation was held at Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home where funeral services to celebrate her life were held on Tuesday with Rev. George Luciani of United Methodist Church officiating. Jeremy Bussing, Ryan Adair, Matthew Greer and Paul Adams served as pallbearers. Interment was in Rice Creek Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Mar Lee School.
