She was born Feb. 13, 1919 at Briar, the daughter of George W. and Martha Fraiser Hunt. She was married to Marvin B Guilliams for 43 years, he died Dec. 16, 1976. In 1985, she married Eddie Rush and he preceded her in death in 1995.
Joy and Marvin owned a farm south of Doniphan for many years and after his death she moved to town. She was a former member of the Wilson Church of Christ and later became a faithful member of the Doniphan Church of Christ. In 1944 she went to work for the former Wright Leather Manufacturing Company in Doniphan, which later became Vitronics and after 35 years she retired in 1979.
Joy moved to Puxico in 2000 to be near her family and in 2008 moved to Jackson.
Loving survivors include four sons, Walter Berrel (Ruth) Guilliams of Jackson, George "Jerry" (Pat) Guilliams of Perryville, Lonnie (Judy) Guilliams of Puxico, and Donnie (Valerie) Guilliams of Wichita, KS; one sister, Geraldine Sanfillippo of St. Charles, MO.; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-six great grand-children; and three great great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by a grandson Jeffery Guilliams; five sisters, Lora Keel, Lois Hastings, Una Mae Beckham, Georgia Faye Kennon, and Maxine Redwine; and an infant brother.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Dec. 22 at the Doniphan Church of Christ with Steve Sanders officiating. Interment followed in Wilson Cemetery.
