She died Saturday, Feb. 6, 1999, in Lubbock's Bender Terrace Nursing Home.
She was born April 17, 1915, in Blanket. She married Joe Doloph Adkisson on Oct. 18, 1933, in Clovis, N.M. He preceded her in death on April 5, 1988. She was a longtime Abernathy resident, and she was a member of the Church of Christ. She was employed by Struve's until retiring in 1981.
Survivors include four daughters, Betty Smith of Muleshoe, Janice Cope of Lamesa, Jo Etta Childers of San Antonio and Elaine Ramsay of Irvine, Calif.; a brother, Roy Williams of Arlington; two sisters; Pauline Adkisson of Muleshoe and Lazalle Dickens of Raleigh, N.C.; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
