Al is survived by his wife, Virginia, 3 children, 3 grandchildren, 3 step children and 7 brothers and sisters. He was preceded in death by 5 brothers and sisters. Al was born in Jasper, Alabama on March 20, 1933. He was a Retired U.S. Army Colonel and an Alameda City Councilman. Family and friends are invited to attend Funeral services on Friday, July 11, 2003 at 6:00 p.m. on the USS Hornet, Alameda Point, Alameda with Pastor Walter Hawkins, officiating. Visitation Friday, 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. at the Greer Family Mortuary, 2694 Blanding Ave., Alameda.
