Theresa Mrzlak died peacefully at home in Columbus, NE on Friday, May 30, 2014.
Theresa Ann German Mrzlak was born September 30, 1916 in Humphrey, Nebraska to Basil Joseph and Anna (Wemhoff) German. She married Nicholas James Mrzlak on January 10, 1942 in Omaha, Nebraska. The couple resided in Omaha for a short time and then moved to Columbus where she and Mr. Mrzlak reared their family. She was a 1940 graduate of St. Joseph Creighton Memorial School of Nursing and was a licensed x-ray technician. She worked at St. Josephs Hospital in Omaha and at St. Marys hospital in Columbus. During her later years she resided with daughters in Omaha, NE, Redondo Beach, CA, Laguna Hills, CA and most recently, in her former home in Columbus, NE. Theresa was a member of St. Bonaventure Church and a 69 year member of The Catholic Daughters of America. She was a past president of the St. Marys Hospital auxiliary. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, e-mail correspondence, old movies, and family gatherings. Although she will be missed, her wise words and wit will be with us forever.
