Arthur Simpson Anderson, 81, a retired employee of Armour Mines and a resident of Webster Street, died Monday at Maury County Hospital after becoming ill at his home.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Oakes and Nichols Funeral Home with the Revs. Howard Jones and James Wright, ministers of the Baptist Church, officating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

A native of maury Co., he was a son of the late Robert Lee and mary Baxter Anderson. He was a long-time member of Viola Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Daisy Scott Anderson of Columbia; a son, Robert Edward Anderson of Clarksville; a stepdaughter, Mrs. James C. (Mary) Brooks of Columbia; a stepson, Samuel Brooks of Michigan; a sister; Mrs. Wealthy Reed of Columbia; a brother, Herman Anderson of Williamsport; five grandchildren; and seven stepgrandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Thomas Hann, J.R. Anderson, Marvin Anderson, Ronald Anderson, William Gemmell Jr. and Clayton Gemmell.

Honorary pallbearers will be workiers of Armour Mines.
