Funeral services for Albert Gerson Pike, age 66, of Roanoke will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. David Taft and Rev. Mike Brewer officiating. Burial will follow at Paran Baptist Church Cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 18, 2013.

Mr. Pike died Monday, September 16, 2013, at his home.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Ann Burks Pike; three sons, Kenneth Gerson Pike, Keith Lee Pike, and Kevin Dennis Pike all of Roanoke; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Geneva Kirby and Arine Pike both of Roanoke and Shelby Jean Arrington of Woodland.

Pallbearers will be Mike Smith, Timothy Smith, Timothy Kirby, Chance Hill, Brian Powell, Eddie Laws, Brian Laws, Ronnie Hill, Larry Smith, and Glenn Hill.

A lifelong resident of Roanoke, Mr. Pike was born on September 21, 1946, the son of A.W. and Susie Prather Pike. He was a member of Paran Baptist Church, had been employed as a fixer with Wehadkee Yarns, and was an avid outdoorsman. Mr. Pike was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Joe Pike.
