Antoine Bedard, Mill Company Head, Dies at 93
Antoine Bedard, pioneer Chicago sash and door manufacturer, president of the Bedard-Morency Mill company of River Forest, died yesterday in his home at 555 Monroe avenue, River Forest. He would have been 94 years old next month. Death was due to heart disease.
Until he was stricken six weeks ago, Mr. Bedard was the active head of his company, which played a prominent part in the building of both Oak Park and River Forest. Born in Quebec on June 29, 1837, Mr. Bedard came to Chicago 74 years ago and entered the mill manufacturing business.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday morning in St. Luke's church, River Forest. Burial will be in Mount Carmel cemetery. One son and three daughters, Mrs. Arthur de St. Aubin of Oak Park, Antoine J. Bedard of Chicago, and Mrs. Julius V. Breneisen and Adeline H. Bedard of River Forest, survive.
