Mary Sargent has been identified as Allen's wife by an article in "The Essex Genealogist" Vol 13 (1993), starting on page 166. The proof rests largely on the will of Ruth (Sargent) Chipman which I have seen. Ruth's will contains the following:
"I Give to my kinsman Joseph Bread Ten Pounds: and to his Daughters Sarah and Elizabeth five Pounds Each and to the other Children of my sister Bread Twenty Pounds." [Mary (Sargent) Breed has a son Joseph who has daughters named Sarah and Elizabeth].
