Clark M. Mowers, 75, of Bolivar, W. Va., brother of Mrs. Edith Carmody, 312 N. Jay Street, died unexpectedly Friday at his home.

Born May 25, 1878, in the town of Lewis, near West Leyden, he was a son of Charles H. and Mary Bork Mowers. His wife, the former Bertha Davis, died several years ago.

Mr. Mowers was employed in a milk station in Edmeston as a youth, later moving to Athol, Mass, where he reisded for 30 years. He was first associated with a tobacco firm and then in his own insurance agency.

From Massachuesetts Mr. Mowers moved to Idaho, and next to Charleston, W. Va.

He was a Mason and member of the Jefferson County, W. Va. Republican Club, Izaak Walton League and Friendship Fire Co., Bolivar.

Also surviving are a brother, E. Eugene Mowers, West Leyden, a stepdaughter, Mrs. Merrill Fox, Perrysville, two step grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
