Owen Quinton Bolin, age 78, of Elyria Township, OH, passed away the morning May 25, 2014, after winning against cancer for 14 years.

He was born in Crossville May 13, 1936, and had been a resident of Lorain County, OH, since 1955.

Owen had been employed as a final buy-off inspector at Ford Motor Company's Lorain, OH, assembly plant for 31 years. A member of United Autoworkers Local 425, he retired from the automaker in 1991.

Owen was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason and was a longtime member of the Amherst Stonington Lodge #503 F. & A.M. in Amherst, OH.

An avid lover of nature, he enjoyed spending time in the woods, especially with his beloved dog, Jake. He was a skilled player of the guitar and banjo, and played bluegrass music with many of his friends and his brother, Bob. He shared his passion for music and the outdoors with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Amy Lee (née Wilson); his daughter, Jane Baker and her husband, Daryl, of Lorain, OH; and by his sons, Roy D. Bolin of Elyria Township, OH, and David A. "Andy" Bolin and his wife, Lynn, of Elyria, OH. Owen leaves behind his grandchildren, Rachel A. Baker of Pennsylvania and Amy C. Bolin and Dalton Bolin of Elyria, all of whom he loved very much. He also leaves behind his great-granddaughter, Eden Quinn Bolin, who lit up his face every moment they were together. Owen is survived by his brother, Robert Bolin and his wife, Pauline, who reside in Crossville.

Owen was preceded in death by his mother, Ollie Bolin; his father, John Henry Lewis; and his cherished black lab, Jake.

The family received friends May 28 from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel in Lorain, OH, where Masonic services were conducted by Stonington Lodge 503 F. and A. M.

Additional visitation will be held in Crossville today, May 30, from 5 until 8 p.m., with services conducted on Saturday, May 31, at 1 p.m., at the Crossville Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow in Thomas Springs Cemetery in Crossville.
