Rhoderick J. "Jack" Beery, 86, of Andrews Court, South Bend, passed away at 4:25 a.m. on Thursday, January 13, 2005, in Memorial Hospital.

He was born on October 6, 1918, in Knox, Indiana, to Carl C. and Clara Ann (McCartney) Beery, who preceded him in death along with a brother, Carl Beery, and sister, Fern Hall.

On June 21, 1944, in Tucson, Arizona, Jack married Anne Marie Pilsitz. Surviving Jack is his wife, Anne Marie; daughters, Lynn A. Morris of Mishawaka, Jacquelyn Ahrns of Fairport, New York; son, Rhoderick J. Beery Jr. of Lincoln, Nebraska; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Jack retired as a lieutenant colonel after a distinguished career of 32 years in the U.S. Air Force where he was in aircraft supervision. He was a member of the Retired Officers Association, charter president of Michiana TROC, HPA charter member, and a member of 55th Strap Recon Wing Association.

Private family services will be held at a later date. St. Joseph Funeral Home, 1827 E. Ireland Road, is handling the arrangements.
