Andrew Smith was born about 1783, as his 1843 obituary relates that he died at about 60 years of age. He was born on his father Charles' farm in Mount Pleasant Township, near Bonneauville, on the Bonneauville and Oxford Road, in present-day Adams County, then York County, in Pennsylvania. He was most likely baptized at Conewago Chapel, but there are no baptismal records before the year 1791.

Andrew is most likely buried at Conewago Chapel Basilica Cemetery, Adams County, Pennsylvania, as most of his family is buried there, his marriage occurred there, and many of his children were baptized there, but unfortunately the burial records for the year 1843 are extremely incomplete. If there is an existing tombstone then this would confirm the burial.
